Position: Public Policy Research and Program Evaluation – Research Assistant
CLOSING DATE: February 12, 2026 (23:59 Eastern Standard Time)Job purpose:
A Research Assistant’s role is primarily to assist Project Managers in completing projects and internal tasks, acting as a resource when needed.
Duties and responsibilities:
In general, a Research Assistant is responsible for the following tasks:
- Schedule interviews. Research Assistants schedule interviews for project teams, and update databases with information when scheduling interviews. They are also responsible for corresponding with interviewees regarding scheduling and entering interviews into PRA staff’s Outlook calendar.
- Assist with writing proposals. Research Assistants help with writing proposals, including writing background sections about the client and/or scope of work, creating project experience tables, updating résumés, putting together tables of relevant information, or other tasks, such as proposal triage.
- Transcribe focus groups or interviews. Research Assistants transcribe focus groups or interviews as needed.
- Assist with project-related tasks. A Research Assistant assist with project related tasks, including (but not limited to) document reviews, literature searches, verifying accuracy of reporting, and tables and charts.
- Assist in writing reports. The Research Assistant may assist, as needed, in writing reports, which may include (but not limited to) entering or updating numbers in a report, creating charts and/or tables, and/or writing.
- Conduct virtual and on-site research. Research Assistants may be required to conduct virtual and on-site research, including note taking/transcription, hosting, interviewing, mystery shopping, and other project related tasks.
- Assist with office administration. As needed, Research Assistants may be asked to support the Office Manager with various tasks related to office administration.
Qualifications for this position include the following:
- Education. Minimum Bachelor’s degree.
- Language. Fluency in English and in French, in written and oral form.
- Experience. No specific experience is required.
- Specialized knowledge. No specialized knowledge is required.
- Skills and abilities. Ability to communicate clearly in written and oral form, ability to multi-task, ability to communicate with team members, and ability to follow instructions.
- Clearance. Already cleared at the Protected B level, or ability to get cleared at this level.
The Research Assistant’s working period is primarily from 9 am to 5 pm; however, evening and weekend work may be required for deliverables required under short timelines or off-site work. Work may be in an office or remote dependent on the location of the Research Assistant.
Salary range:

Position: Senior Interviewer / Data Management

We are currently looking for a Senior Interviewer (3 or more years’ experience) with the ability to gather opinions from difficult segments of the Canadian population and contribute to high-quality research.
The chosen candidate will be a very skilled interviewer (knowledgeable /articulate/high producer) and able to work with limited supervision. In addition, they will have the ability to cover data management of surveys that are returned by mail including data entry of the results.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the industry
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (other languages bonus)
- Well-developed organizational and numeracy skills
- Extensive experience with health care research
- High level of data entry completion rate

We are currently looking for a Research Assistant/Data Analyst for our Winnipeg office. The position will begin in October 2023.
Essential qualifications include:
