What is The Manitoba Research Collective?

This is an online survey research panel that draws together a diverse group of Manitobans willing to give their opinions and perspectives on a variety of important topics.

Members receive emails that invite them to participate in online surveys, and they may also be invited to participate in other research activities such as focus groups or mystery shopping. Members that successfully complete surveys will be awarded points based on the effort and time required to complete each survey.

Gift cards could include any of the following retailers: Amazon.ca, Best Buy, Cineplex, Banana Republic, Home Depot, Indigo, Starbucks, Tim Horton’s, Uber, Uber Eats, or Walmart. Opportunities to partner with other gift card providers will be added as they become available.

While panellists have the opportunity to express their opinions and be heard by decision-makers, all answers provided are confidential and only aggregated responses are used in any reporting. PRA is a member of the Canadian Research Insights Council (CRIC) and our privacy policy ensures that we follow strict guidelines.

Once you join, you will have the option of leaving the panel at any time. While on the panel, you are free to take as many (or only a few) opportunities as you wish to voice your opinion.

The Manitoba Research Collective provides opportunities for a variety of organizations to gain valuable insights and meet their research objectives. Using the panel is an excellent means of conducting quick, large-sample surveys of Manitobans. PRA also has access to national panels.

Members that successfully complete a survey will be awarded points based on the effort and time required to complete the survey. Most surveys offer 50 to 150 points.
When you reach 1,000 points, you will be able to start redeeming them for a gift card.
You can redeem larger amounts if you collect and save your points.

Your points never expire.
  • [Log in] to your panel account.
  • Click “Redeem Points.”
  • Select the reward option by clicking on it.
  • Select a value by clicking on it.
  • Click “Confirm & Proceed.”
  • You will receive a message saying “Your reward is on the way.”
Once you receive your reward, be sure to claim it within 90 days. After that, you can keep the gift card until you use it and it will not expire.

There are several reasons why this may have happened. Please contact panel@pra.ca for assistance.
Please contact panel@pra.ca with a detailed message about the error.
Each survey we send out has a maximum number of responses required. Once this number is reached, the survey will expire. You may also receive this error message if the final date to complete the survey has passed. Most of our surveys are available or active for about a week, but this can vary.
Most surveys we run have maximum quotas, so we may have already received enough responses while you were completing your survey.
We recommend that you sign in to your account and check out the surveys that may be available to you. You will find all surveys available under the section labelled “Surveys.”
Surveys are embedded with “cookies” to prevent respondents from participating twice (which would skew our results). If someone else in your household has already accessed the survey from the same browser or internet connection (Firefox/Internet Explorer/Chrome, etc.), you would not be able to complete it from that browser. You can still access and complete the survey from a different browser using a different IP address. Luckily, our surveys are mobile friendly!
All of our surveys are mobile friendly. However, some mobile devices are not supported. If you are having problems on a mobile device, try to complete the survey on a desktop computer. If you are using a desktop computer and problems persist, you may need to update your browser or try using a different browser (e.g., instead of Internet Explorer, try Mozilla Firefox).

Making sure you have a strong internet connection will also help with your survey experience. Weak internet connections can prevent pages from loading and cause them to lag. This could interfere with being able to complete your survey. Sometimes hitting the refresh option on your browser will help reload a page that may not look right.
