Alex is a Senior Research Associate whose expertise centres on applied econometrics, causal inference, and research design. This methodological focus allows him to work across diverse subject areas and contribute to projects in many policy and program fields.
Alex contributes to project planning and management, oversight of data collection and analysis, and the preparation of reports and presentations. He has managed and contributed to a range of evaluations, impact assessments, and economic and social research studies for clients at different levels of government and in the non-profit sector.
Alex has experience with the full cycle of quantitative and qualitative research. He develops study designs that support credible causal interpretation, works with survey and administrative datasets using a range of advanced econometric and statistical methods, and conducts interviews and focus groups, as well as structured reviews of documents and literature.
Before joining PRA, Alex devoted years to music performance and instruction, and academic tutoring in mathematics and economics. This blend of the artistic and academic highlights his love of learning as well as his aptitude for sharing knowledge.
